I was blown away by the clarity of this baby monitor! I have tried several monitors over the years. The improvements to technology is astounding. The picture on this monitor is SO good. The color night vision is very impressive, but for full darkness, you need the traditional IR night vision (which this monitor also has). During the day, in a dim room, you can still get good color images using the night color mode. If you use the night light that is built into the monitor, you can utilize the color vision at night as well. I personally do not use the night light feature regularly as I have this monitor attached to the crib and it feels very bright that close to the baby.The good:This monitor is very feature rich. It has wide angle lens (SO nice!! Even when mounted close, you can see the whole crib without needing to pan), 8x zoom, white noise, stories, night light, walkie talkie, and motion recording. I love that this is not on wifi and does not require a subscription for any of the features. I do not utilize all of the features to their max but I have tested them all. I actually really enjoyed the different stories and sometimes I will have one play and my older kids will go hop in the crib and listen to the stories as well! The battery life is good, though I have only been using this monitor for a month and these things are always their best in the early days of usage. I generally get 12 hours of use and the battery depletes 2 bars in that time, then I plug the monitor in to charge.The RANGE on this monitor is also OUTSTANDING! I generally lose reception on a baby monitor before I get to the swing set on our property. I was delighted when I had service at the swing set. I went to the barn and still had service, and finally just walked down the road to see how far I could get. This monitor has a range that is beyond double what I can get on the other monitors we have used.The less good:I tend to leave this monitor on most of the time rather than turning it off when I don't need it. When I turn it off all the way, it will occasionally disconnect from the camera and I have to go in the baby's room to restart the camera. I try not to let the baby see me when she's trying to fall asleep so I dislike going in to restart the camera. I find that the navigation on this monitor is a little clunky, which can be frustrating.While sometimes I feel very aggravated after attempting to navigate the menu, all of the positives outweigh any of the negatives and I would absolutely get this monitor again!
