Perfect for HalloweenI purchased a pair of these pylons; and both were defective. Neither unit would rotate. I tested both of them on two good power sources...to no avail It appears the Amazon vendor is pawning-off untested refurbished merchandise.Junk!We had it replaced and the second one was junk also. Neither one worked. Cheap plastic gearing.Took out of box and would not work. You can hear the motor running but it does not rotate. Would not purchase lionel mechanical pieces without seeing that item work. they are not well made at all.Finally opened mine after a long while. What a piece of junk! Like the other reviews, doesn't spin with motor running with gear clunking! I did the best to align the gears. Can't tighten completely without jamming! Even the pylon tower gear wouldn't mesh with the base gear! Holy cow! If you purchase, demand that the seller tests it first! Does look nice but rather pay $20 if it's just a display.
